I have to meet my mother in law today at 5:30 pm at the park with our two children. My husband is meeting us there. We are taking a picnic for dinner. Any fast, easy, throw it in a container, or wrap it up ideas?

Pick up some fried chicken from your neighbor deli or store.
Pack some deli ham sandwiches on some tea rolls, take mayo/mustard/cheese for condiments.
Cut up some fruit put in a container.
Make up some Pita sandwiches, stuff them with roast beef and cheese.

Well, there is always the option to buy fried chicken and sides at the store. If you want to make something yourself, I would recommend cold grilled chicken sandwiches on any type of roll you like. Then whip up a greek pasta salad with cooked rotini, grape tomatoes, chopped up cucumber and red onion, precrumbled feta cheese, and a bottled greek or italian dressing. Throw some bottled drinks, fruit, and cookies in too and you are ready.

How about Pannini sandwiches from the local market?

And serve something other than the national brand soda - one of the interesting teas or something different. Even ginger ale instead of cola.

Try luscious strawberries and a tupperware of powedered sugar for dippng as a dessert.

Use what ever you picked as a substitute if mine don't do any thing for you.

Club Sandwiches.

Take four slices of bread and spread them with butter or margarine.
On the first slice place ham and some mustard. (Optional)
Place the second slice of bread on top of Ham, and cover with mashed egg, seasoned with S&P.
Place the third slice of bread on top of egg, and cover with de seeded tomato, seasoned with S&P
Top with forth slice of bread, spread side down.
Cut crusts fro the sides and cut into fingers.

If possible get a loaf of caterers sliced bread.
It is cut lengthways, instead of across, so you can make several at a time.

You can make ceasar wraps with tortillas or pita bread stuffed with deli meats, lettuce, tomatoes and your choice of dressing (ceaser, ranch, vinagraitte) also fruit and juices-maybe a bottle of wine for the adults.
