means bring your babysuit cause the pool is open....
if they mentioned bring chips or soda or a dish of some kind.
then don't worry and just bring your swimming suit and a towel so that you can go in the pool if you want to .sometimes I lay around the pool in my short and tank top and never desire going in the pool....

It's a lifestyle thing...my friend refers to them as 'barbecues'...people go as couples but screw others. Not my idea of a good time, but to each their own.
