If you were diagnosed by a doctor, surely the doctor also told you what to do about it! If you want some good advice on the treatment from the 'Net, then read these: http://www.webmd.com/a-to-z-guides/Infectious-Mononucleosis-Topic-Overview and http://familydoctor.org/online/famdocen/home/common/infections/common/viral/077.html.
These will tell you that mono goes away on its own. But it will go away more comfortably if you take it easy, get lots of rest, drink lots of fluids, and take a Tylenol every now and then. Plan on feeling bad for 3-4 weeks.

I had mono about 10 years ago in middle school. Nothing made me feel better but time. And tylenol sometimes. I felt crummy for about 4 months. The doctor told me to eat whatever I wanted during that time to keep my energy up and to NOT do anything very physical. My spleen was enlarged (happens with mono) so if you get hit there it can rupture, which you can die from if it's not quickly surgically removed.
I hope you feel better soon, mono sucks!

SOOO many people at my school have mono right now (so i am being really careful) but its not that bad... after a few weeks you will feel better. and after 6 months you wont be contagous anymore. You are past the hardest part (im assuming you already had your blood taken) and if you havnt, dont worry its no big deal.
lots of people get mono you will be ok.
Feel better =]

Mono has been known to last for up to a year. I know that is scary, but it is very rare that it will last that long. For now all you can do is not share anything, dont kiss anyone on the lips or drink from anyone else's cup.

Most doctors recommend generous amounts of bed rest, drinking a lot of fluids, and avoiding caffeine. Trying to be active to beat the fatigue may make it worse. Duration of symptoms is very variable, ranging from weeks to months, but some cases have lasted from six months to a year.

Time and rest and plenty of it too. You are going to be an adult and you will never forget this adventure.
