Vaginal yeast infection (thrush) is caused by an overgrowth of yeast organisms that normally live in small numbers in the vagina. Factors that encourage an excess growth of vaginal yeast include:

* Using antibiotics.
* Having high estrogen levels (hyperestrogenemia), such as during pregnancy, hormone replacement therapy (HRT or ERT) use, high-dose birth control pill use, and the follicular phase of the menstrual cycle.
* Having diabetes, especially if your blood sugars are not well controlled and tend to be high.
* Having an impaired immune system.
* Using corticosteroids, such as prednisone.
* Being overweight.
* Having the genital area exposed to moisture for a long period of time (for example, wearing a wet bathing suit all day) or living in a warm, humid climate.
* Using an intrauterine device (IUD).
* Having a sex partner with symptoms of yeast infection (very rare).

Most yeast infections involve Candida albicans, a yeast that can be treated effectively with standard yeast infection medication. Recurrent vaginal yeast infections tend to involve non–C. albicans types of yeast, which are more resistant to the standard treatments for C. albicans yeast infections.

Chronic yeast syndrome, a condition in which excess growth of yeast supposedly affects the whole body, has not been medically proven.

I am assuming from the question that you have it, and don't know how you got it. well, you almost certainly just grew it! thrush is fungus called " Candida Albicans" which is in fact normally present in our bodies..Just sometimes it can overgrow causing thrush.

Bacteria is normal in your body, nothing to worry about, but if you take antibiotics sometimes your GOOD bacteria are reduced. And these good bacteria normally stop that fungus, Candida, from overgrowing. So you get thrush.

Please don't worry about it, or feel dirty! Most women get thrush at some time or other, which is often enough.

If you are on antibiotics long term, it is a good idea to try to cut down or if possible eliminate all sugar from you diet, if only for a few weeks. Sugar feeds Candida. And avoid stuff full of yeast - mainly bread I am afraid!

I hope this is your first experience of thrush and may be your last if you deal with it well, but don't be embarrassed, it's almost as common as childbirth!!!

Thrush is a yeast infetcion and there are two types you can get one is oral in the mouth and the other down below. I know you can get it other places but forgot those are the most common.

Oral thrush is common in babies and is treated with antibiotic oral medicine. You can also get thrush if you have have oral sex with someone who has it.

Vaginal thrush can be cause by the build up of yeast in the body they say to many sugars in diet can cause it, some women get it wearing tights, or using perfumed bubble bath ect also it can be passed on by having sex with someone who has it. Although in men symptoms are not obvious.
So if a women has thrush she needs to tell her partner and also both need to be treated.
You can buy treatment over counter some just need the caniston cream some will need pessary and cream.

You really need to get a vet out there; or expericened farrier. that doesnt sound like thrush he/she shouldnt have puss or be really dark black unless thats his hooves natural color. if he has cracks in his hooves. you might have a fungual problem try. diging it out with a hoof pickor nail just a LITTLE bit and put iodine in it:D do this like two mabey three times. total then... this may sound funny but all so try soaking his foot in orange juice the natualr acid will kill any stuff in there. do it once everyday. and the bleach sugestion is also great idea:D but dont do it to offten it's not so good for the hooves. mak esure your putting rain maker on there hooves every other day this will help to:D

Through taking anti-biotics, contraceptive pills, wearing too tight trousers, having a condition like diabetes, being run down and intercourse with an uncircumcised male carrier!
You can get it in the mouth, in moist areas like under the arm-pits and around the groin, in the vaginal area or under the fore-skin.
It's an overgrowth of the naturally occurring fungus Candida albicans, which is normally kept in check by the body's own bacteria. If this is compromised the yeast grows and becomes bothersome so It's not a disease, and is easily treated by over the counter remedies, but if it's a recurring problem see your GP

Well, many ways, thrush is oral candadiasis, it's a fungal infection of the mucous membranes of the mouth and upper GI tract (pharynx and esophagus).
It's most common in people who are immunosuppressed, though anyone can get it, so risk factors are things like chemotherapy, AIDS, using inhaled steroids (usually for asthma) without rinsing your mouth out afterwards, etc.

Thrush is a yeast infection of the oropharynx. Yeast are normal microorganisms that grow inside bodies and on our skin. Yeast can grow out of control when the other normal microorganisms in our bodies die (ie. if you took a broad spectrum antibiotic or are immunocompromised).
