I'm thinking its not Pulmonary Edema or fluid in the lungs but rather quite possibly a Pulmonary Embolism. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pulmonary_embolism
It also might be an allergic reaction, asthma or some other life threatening condition.
As to "what should I do?" I agree with everyone else and would have someone drive you to the ER.
Good Luck!

smoking may have not helped it, it wasn't her brightest idea but it may not have been the real cause of it. It can have something to do with the type of delivery she had. If she had a natural birth, when the baby is going through the birth canal their torso/lungs gets a good squeeze as it should do and the babys lungs are mostly clear when they are born through expelling the fluid and re-absorbtion into the body.. If you have a c-section birth this squeezing doesn't happen and they need some help clearing it from their lungs. Its normal to have it but some just need help getting it out at birth. Some mothers who have never smoked have this happen after birth and usually the babies are just fine

You can't tell if you have wet lungs but a nurse, doctor or respiratory therapist could. But don't jump to conclusions and make the mistake of self-diagnosing. Shortness of breath can have other causes besides wet lungs and shortness of breath and other forms of dyspnea can leave a person feeling weak and tired. You haven't mentioned pain on inspiration so I have to presume you have none. Stay upright while awake and elevate your head when in bed with an extra pillow.
Either visit an Urgent Care clinic soon or call your doctor in the morning. If your breathing worsens or you begin to experience air hunger, call 911.

If you are feeling short of breath then you need to see a doc. Fluid on the lungs is only one of many causes of being SOB so see a doc and get checked out.

I would definitely suggest an ER visit. This sounds much more like a pulmonary embolism (blood clot in lungs) with associated hypoxemia (low levels of oxygen in your blood) making you weak. Generally, unless you have cancer, you're going to have some other symptoms (like a recent infection that hasn't completely cleared) if you have a pleural effusion (fluid in the pleural sac around your lungs).

Shortness of breath is not good. You could be having an asthma attack, an allergic reaction, or something could be wrong with your heart. Are you having any chest pain? I would get to an emergency room.

No it isnt normal. If you are feeling weak and short of breath, you need to be getting into an emergency room right now. Call an ambulance or have someone drive you in.
Are you having chest pain as well?
