Is there a cure for HPV?
There is no cure for the virus (HPV) itself. There are treatments for the health problems that HPV can cause, such as genital warts, cervical changes, and cervical cancer.

What should I know about genital warts?
There are many treatment choices for genital warts. But even after the warts are treated, the virus might still be there and may be passed on to others. If genital warts are not treated they may go away, stay the same, or increase in size or number, but they will not turn into cancer.

i found that! scary

For most people HPV is pretty harmless!

Some people develop cancer from their HPV though. The biggest concern with HPV is the cervical cancer it can cause for women. Last year about 10,000 women were diagnosed with cervical cancer in the US alone. About 4,000 of those women will die from it. If the cancer is caught early enough though sometimes it can be removed or the women can have a hysterectomy done (which isn't great, but it's better than death).

There is NO cure for HPV, however, most people are able to get rid of it on their own. Their bodies can basically "fight off" the virus. But, they can always contract it again later on in life. It's estimated about 75 - 80% of the WORLD will have HPV at some point in their life. I've heard many people call it the "common cold" of STDs.

There is a new vaccine for HPV called Gardasil. The vaccine protects against 4 different kinds of HPV (two known to cause about 70% of cervical cancer and two known to cause about 90% of genital warts). Many doctors (including mine) suggest ALL women get the new vaccine, whether they have HPV or not. If a woman already has HPV it won't cure her of it, but it can possibly prevent her from contracting a kind of HPV she doesn't already have.

HPV has many different strains, some cause genital warts. HPV can lead to cervical cancer, this is a proven fact, and cancer can lead to death. I suggest if you have HPV you should always go to your gyno appts. Some HPV is curable but there is no cure for genital warts.

No can't die from HPV and sorry it ain't curable like all viruses usually resolves on its own by the immune system with a Healthy person. Within 2 years usually treatable when it causes complication like warts and cancer.

An HPV might be one factor on you getting cervical cancer which might be fatal. The percentage is low but it's possible.

Is it curable?, yes but you have to treat it not just ignore it.

I am pretty sure you cannot die from HPV, it can turn into cervical cancer if not treated. I don't know if there is a cure, but i am confident it is not immediately fatal. Only one STD is fatal, and that is AIDS, even that has pretty good treatments. Don't freak too bad, but do see a doc.

No. This is a very minor problem. It is true that you have a very slight increase in cancer risk but this is of a very low order of magnitude.

In real World terms a really minor problem.
