I don't consume any animal products.

Cheese is a form of dairy, which is made by impregnating mammals (usually cows.) Since mammals produce milk to feed their offspring, the question arises as to what happens to the offspring.
Female calves go on to produce milk themselves. Male calves go on to become veal.
Once cows stop producing milk, they're slaughtered.

Also, casein is a protein found in milk, I think that Tracy F has this confused with rennet, which is an enzyme used in many cheeses and is a slaughterhouse byproduct, from the stomach and intestines of cows and sheep.

I used to eat cheese and other dairy. I have since cut it out of my diet for two reasons: the high fat content and the use of caesin (a byproduct of the slaughterhouse, comes from the stomach lining of cows) to make the cheese. Even with plain milk, I just don't want to contribute to the suffering of cows and the whole idea of factory farming.

Milking cows supports the idea of factory farming and slaughter, which I'm against.

Also it's not healthy for humans to drink milk (or use other dairy) from another species. No other mammal does that. Milk is for babies. Cows milk is for baby cows. Cheese is a milk product. Simple as that.

I don't eat cheese because it comes from an animal. And I don't want to support the dairy industry.

Vegans don't eat cheese because it comes from a poor cow that is probably being treated very badly by stupid mean people like us.
