Cheese can be made from the milk of any animal. Well, to be precise, of any mammal, as only mammals produce milk.
Feta is usually made from goat's milk. Real mozzarella is made from water buffalo milk. Some types of blue cheeses (I'm referring to the group of cheeses which have have a mold injected into the ripening cheese to achieve the coloured veining as well as the distinctive flavours and aromas) are made of lamb's milk.
If there is a label, read the label. If not, ask the sales person. If that individual can't tell you, you're buying your cheeses in the wrong store.

Being a former chef I have had and used cheeses made from goats milk, sheep, yaks, reindeers, camel, I have never had it but in Peru they make cheese with llama milk, water buffalo for really good mozzerella. And I cannot confirm it but if Europe some palce they amke a cheese with the milk of mature mares (Horses)?
And if it is made from any animal the label must stated the product ingredients, the US has the FDA and Department of Agriculture, here in Canada we have Health Canada and the Canadian Food Inspection Agency. The EU has serveral as they now have to consistant all through the Union.

You can make cheese out of any animal that gives off milk. But the most common 2 types of milk that cheese is made from is goat and cow.

Pecorino ramano cheese is made from goat's milk. I think the labels of cheese usually say if the milk comes from another animal rather than a cow.

Feta is a very delicious and popular goat cheese, as is Chevre. If you go to the grocery store you will find them. If you expand your search to health and gourmet food stores you might find cheese made from other animals, maybe sheep?
The label will tell you what animal the milk is from. If it doesn't, then it is cow.

Cheese can be made from any kind of milk (sheep or goat or even horse), and also from soy. If it's made from non-cow dairy, it's usually a fancier cheese, and more expensive, and they make quite a big deal of it on the label.
