Carne Asada - this implies that it's cooked and ready to go.
I'd recommend 1/2 pound per person unless you know there are big eaters... I'd go with 15 to 20 pounds.
Also, you'll have other food so you can stick with the low end. Just my opinions.

no i think a pound per person would be way to much 1/2 should do or even a little less, think of the beer and chips and salsa people will have ...perhaps corn on the cobb it will all fill you up already before the whole meat thing is even ready...also a good way be able to get away is less is by having lots of snack and stuff as fillers...then there are always the couple of drunks that dont even care about eating...and a no show here and there
i always buy way to much and get stuck eating the same leftovers for a while....so..

The rule is usually 1 1/2 - 2 pounds per person. If you are having a big party with many guests you have many other meat options available to you:
Cabrito- you can sometimes find them at bulk meat markets
Beer butt chicken is always an excellent choice
Pork shoulders are also great!
I hope you have a wonderful time at your party!

You'll need 1/4 to 1/2 pound per person, so anywhere from 8 to 15 lbs. should be ample. If you have lots of other stuff, sides, etc. go with less.
