Sometimes I eat stuff though that contains whey or casein.
Isn't it milk proteins?

They are vegetarian, but not vegan because they are made from milk.

I was curious about this myself. Casein is not vegan. It is the main protein in cow's milk. Whey is also not vegan.

I'm a lacto-veg making the transition to a vegan. So I am positive they are not :)

I would say casein and whey are NOT vegan since those products are derived from milk.

Yes, they are suitable for vegetarians because the animal doesnt have to die-they are milk by products. They would not be considered vegan though, as vegans do not consume anything that comes from an animal, or is tested on an animal.

If you eat dairy then you are fine. If you are vegan and eat no dairy then this is a dairy based item. They are both derivatives of cows milk.

Sorry, no they are not vegan.
They should clearly list when something contains animal products, shouldn't they?...
This may be helpful... It is a list of Animal ingredients.
