For some people who are not a good candidate for surgery they can put in a stint.

They make a small cut in the groin into an artery. They have a special balloon on a long tube. Over this balloon ( it is deflated) they put a stint ( A wire cage it is round ) the size of the artery. Once the stint is around it they will squeeze it to make it small in size.

Next they put they balloon and stint up through the artery. Once it is where they want it they inflate the balloon. This opens the stint. By doing so they force open the artery.

Next they put in a couple of stitches to hold it in place. And they remove they cord that they use to put it in place.

You will need to be put on blood thinners and sometimes other medications as well.

This is a less painful surgery and people tend to recover quicker but there is a complication. Some times I think it is around 10 to 15 % of people will grow scare tissue and block the stint and they will have to get the procedure done again.

The products I know of for opening up arteries and restoring circulation by up to 300% are first Grape seed extract. It contains the strongest anti-oxident known to man. It is one of the few anti-oxidents that can get by the blood brain barrier. It ha sbeen researched and refined by the same doctor that proved asprin would help prevent blood clots. The difference is asprin does not work when you are stressed and heart attacks usually happen when you are stressed. Grape seed has no limitations like that plus you cannot overdose on it. The sugested dose os 1MG per pound of body weoght but it has been tested up to 137MG per pound of body weight. The research stoped there because nobody could ingest 6 bottles of pills a day. The second supplament is select omega-3 (docosahexaenoic acid (DHA) and eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA) fatty acids with phtosterols. They have been shown to be as if not more effective than statin drugs. Third is a great Multi-vitamin to round off your health and the best of all these products are made by a company called Melaluca. Their products have saved my son and myself from major medical complications numerous times. All 3 products are patened and have a great chance of stopping and probably reversing what is going on with you. I am not a expert in these fields but they are and I do know how to research and have done very much in this area.Check out the links and contact me back if you want even more info.

Surgery is usually the last resort. If you have had a diagnosis and a recommendation for surgery, then you should have had all the alternatives explained to you. There are drugs to prevent coagulation - for example - warfarin. There are others. If you are enquiring for yourself, and have symptoms of chest pains, you would be advised to consult your doctor at your earliest convenience. The same advice applies to anybody else.
Hope this helps

My father just had angioplasty and stents put in, to open clogged arteries. Depends though on were the blockage is- if it is high up in the chest, they can't reach it, and open heart surgury is needed. They could open 2 of 3 of his blockages and left the 3rd alone- it could not be reached.

It depends on how much % are the coronaries are blocked.
Any way it's useless to take risk, please consult your cardiologist, as you have not mentioned anything about the status of your coronaries.
As the old goes on IT'S BETTER TO BE LATE THAN NEVER.

All the best.
