In April I had a pap smear done. I guess everything came back normal cause the doctor had said if anything bad they would call. (but tomorrow I will call to make sure) They reason why I had went to get a pap smear because my family doctor assumed that I had a yeast infection so she put me on Canesten or whatever...it did take the burning and the itching away but couple weeks later the itching came back but it wasnt as bad. But I scratched it so hard that I ruined the skin thats around the inner labia. Well I developed small bumps after I did this intense scratching and hoped that it would go away. The skin is still cracked and sometimes it looks like the skin is trying to come off. Bumps developed where I screacted the most!! When i got the pap smear the doctor put me on a three day treatment cause she said it just sounds like a yeast infection. The iching went away completly but the bumps are still there...and sometimes at night I get this little burning and iching feeling where I scractch again. But what I am asking is do you think that this sounds like a yeast infection or hpv?
Ps. I notice a bump under the clitoris but the hood is covering it

Does not sound like HPV, sounds like skin irritation due to abrasive scratching, also might be a UTI.

HPV would have been detected through the PAP. You have probably given yourself an infection from scratching. You have bacteria in your nails. You should see if you can get some antibiotics, which may give you another yeast infection. You should never scratch when you have a yeast infection. Make sure the Dr. gives to a topical cream to use for itching or buy something over the counter. Call your Dr.

Hello, I'm on the second week and seeing definite improvement on my yeast infection symptoms:

Note that: If the yeast infection doesn't respond to over the counter treatment, prescription medication will likely be necessary. Similarly, if the symptoms return after two months of being treated, you should contact the doctor for professional treatment rather than resorting again to home treatment.

If this is the first time you have experienced a yeast infection, you should schedule an appointment to have the condition treated by a doctor instead of resorting to home treatment

Just go to the doctors, because we can really not tell you anything over the internet. It definately could be irritation from the yeast infection. It could also be just your natural skin form. But it could also be HPV. Please get checked for all STDs when you go to the doctors. Because even if you practiced safe sex. You can still contract STDs.

sounds like a yeast infection to me. baking bread is serious. use a daily cream like monistat. and do not scratch! this is very important to the healing. hpv would have been picked up by the pap. stop scratching your beav.

If your GYN hasn't done a blood test for herpes please ask them to do so, just to rule it out. Good Luck

I had this reoccuring problem and it was treated as yeast infection, allergies to detergents etc. by 3 different doctors over the course of 2 years. A physicians assistant who counsels on herpes found it with a blood test specific to herpes !
My fiance had it all along and never let on --he was the one who gave it to me !
