if you stop smoking, the body will clean the lungs naturally, it takes about a year before all the toxins are gone. It will even heal the physical damage done to the lungs by smoking. However, damage done to other areas, like the heart and the bladder (yes the bladder), is pretty much a done deal.
Did you know smoking causes bladder cancer too? It does.

smoking is a terrible habit,and no you cannot revove it! the more you smoke the worse it will get. until you either wind up with emphsema or lung cancer. did you know that if you stop smoking (cold turkey) your lungs might clear up to some degree? try it,i know it wont be an easy task for you but think about how much better you ll feel and yo willl have some extra change in your pocket, that will be the money that you save because you no longer will be blowing it on cigarettes.

I think I heard that your lungs will be completely clear after you've been smoke-free for 7 years. The tar will be gone, but if the lungs have been damaged that might not be completely repaired.
