I assume you have already tried loosing weight and if not it is a priority! If they put you on this cpap you will first have a few sleepless nights, as the machine is hard to get used to. However give it three months and then you will be at home with the change. A serious word of warning, I just buried my Uncle, age 79, as he had heart problems for over ten years, but what killed him, the weight. No matter how many times they told him to reduce the weight, it went in one ear and out the other. He ended up with 'upper airways collapse' had to give him a tracheotomy, not nice, so please please please take weight as a serious issue.

You''ll feel better very quickly. Some people will wake up and pull it off at about 4am for the first few weeks, Don't be be surprised if this happens to you. It can take awhile to get use to. Make sure they let you try on different types of masks. Some go over your nose and mouth, some just over your nose, and some fit into your nostrils. Find one that you feel comfortable with. Everyone is different.

Once you start getting a better night sleep. You'll need to get used to wearing the CPAP mask. It will force your airway to stay open, but it takes some getting used to. Once you do, and you start sleeping at night, the daytime drowsiness will go away.

I got relief from that immediately. Using a cpap at night has changed my life for the better.

Immediately you will feel better, but on average I think a week to catch up on all the sleep you have missed.

takes about 2 weeks really to get used to the machine but you should feel a difference within a month or sooner!!!! if it's too much air to get to sleep, use the ramp button!!! but you'll feel so much better!!! just wear it!!!
