For around 3 weeks now, I haven't been feeling amazing. I have been a bit more tired than usual. I have had some tightness in my chest, well, not so much my chest, but between my breast and my armpit. It is on both sides, but worse on the left side. It is more disturbing when I stretch, or move. But, I don't recall pulling a muscle or anything like that. My shoulder, and armpit, and next to my breast are extremely sore feeling. Sometimes I find my heart feeling like it is skipping a beat. I quit smoking around the time that all this started happening. Actually, these symptoms came on within the first few days of me quitting, and they just haven't gone away. I feel bad most of the day, but generally not all day. I tend to get a couple hours of relief every day. Could this be my heart, or soemthing else?
I know I need to get to a doctor. That is the common sense answer. I won't be insured until next week though. I was looking for some opinions before then.
Thanks all!

It wouldn't surprise me if it was related to quitting smoking. Nicotine from smoking attaches itself to the endorphin receptors in the brain. In this way it can mask existing problems. Sometimes when you quit smoking, instead of feeling better, you feel worse. I'm there too. It usually levels out after a while, but it can be very uncomfortable.

In your case, it almost sounds like your lungs may be hurting while they're cleaning themselves out from the tar and other chemicals. Fortunately, when you get your insurance you can get a complete physical and hopefully be able to put your mind at ease. Congratulations on quitting. It was one of the toughest things I ever did.

Only a doctor can really tell you whats wrong with you.
The same thing has been happening to me though. I spent nearly 7 hours in the hospital yesterday. My heart beats so fast, it does feel like it is skipping beats. I also have the tightness in my chest and under my breast. It can hurt so bad at times, that i feel like i'm gonna have a heart attack or something. I'm only 23 years old. Still young, but yes, i am a smoker. Well anyways, the docs took x-rays of my chest and lungs, and also took some blood to do some blood work. Everything came back alright, so they said i have Acid Reflux. They prescribed me some medication to take.
I'm not saying thats what you have. Only a doctor will know after they look at your x-rays. Please do not miss your appointment.
But until then, you can try taking some heartburn medicine, such as Zantac, Tums, or something. Acid Reflux doesn't even feel like a heartburn...more like a heart attack or something. Do not eat anything 2 hours before going to bed, and sleep in an upright position. Hope this helps! Good luck at the hospital next week!!!

LOL! Oh! and Starbucks has a sparkling card it truly is $25 and also you get a free espresso the first time you purchase it and 10% off all of your purchases for 3 hundred and sixty 5 days so in case you want it like it! that's the cardboard to have! I think you are experiencing withdrawl phenomena as is obvious from your history, I think you will make it.
If you are still in doubt, have yourself consulted, as anxiety can be a cause too.
