Lilliyan gave a great answer.
check out the peta site she suggested - you will be surprised that most of the foods you may already have are considered "vegan".
Good luck and hang in there~

V*ganism does not have to be very costly at all. Some people are addicted to processed foods, and some are picky (me), and that can make it more expensive. But overall, it is not expensive at all.
- Fruits & Veggies Groups:
Buy in-season fruits and veggies. When the price gets high, buy freshly frozen veggies in the freezer section. Freezer veggies are much cheaper... but do not get the canned ones... yuck.
- Grains Group:
Buy grains, rices, cereals, pastas. These are always cheep. Some places even have bulk bins. If you are looking for bread, check the freshly baked section of general grocery stores. Often they have day-old breads that are cheaper, but read the labels. Also, you might find you enjoy baking your own bread.
These grains are the basis for all fun Chinese and Italian dishes. Inexpensive and you have leftovers for days.
:)
- High-Protein Group:
Buy lots of beans and learn to cook with them. Also, tofu is not that expensive and it is great when you learn to cook with it. Simply press the block between paper towels, cut into cubes and cook in a lightly-oiled pan until they turn brownish.
Also, if you are cooking for 1, that pound of tofu for $2.50 can go even further. Cut the block in half and put half back into the fridge in a container filled with water. Drain and put in new water each day.
:)

Also, here is a list of common items in stores you may not think are vegan, but are. Check the labels though, because this list is not updated enough. Wonderbread, for instance, has added whey, so it is not vegan.

And everything on this list is (or should be) vegan.

All that pretty much covers the vegan food groups. Dairy will always be a bit costly. But look around and price check.
Here is some help with the food groups for vegetarians.

Good Luck. I think you will find it is not so bad after all.
Get yourself some ethnic cookbooks like Chinese, Indian, Mexican and Italian.

Kind of a difficult question. I'm guessing you're asking how to figure out if processed food products have animal products in them.
The labeling will list the ingredients. Outside of that, I'd generally focus on products that aren't meat.

Instead of a complet list of veggie foods, try this book instead! It'll tell you what to look for and avoid.
"Animal Ingredients A TO Z" by the E. G. Smith Collective
Here's a link to Abe so you can get it cheaply.

Hi you can try by taking more natural products like beans, because beans contains minerals that a vegetarian/vegan needs. Take more fruits will be better, try not to take health products cos it contains chemicals.

In the La & Texas area we have a store called Vitamin Plus. Excellent prices. Nice products but not nice prices - Whole Foods.
The best is to make your own from scratch.

i do no longer think of vegetarians/vegans are doing something with their nutrients selections to entice interest themselves or making a factor to mixture in. it somewhat is for well being reason and rather once or twice to avert that total ingesting ineffective animals element. it somewhat is common to cook a save bought veggie burger and placed it on a save bought bun and eat it. i do no longer continually have time to pull out 17 ingredients and cook all nutrients from scratch. Meatless lunch meats are a god deliver! Throw it between 2 slices of bread and make contact with it lunch or dinner. My son is allergic to meats, extraordinary i comprehend, and that i feed him pretend fowl nuggets. i'm no longer attempting to fool anybody or make a huge deal the two; it somewhat is in basic terms lunch. it somewhat is protein and he eats it subsequently i'm grateful there are pretend nuggets, burgers and tofu puppies! he's likewise lactose illiberal so i'm very happy there is lactose loose cows milk, too. it somewhat is all bearing directly to the liberty to pick what you want to eat. in case you want to slot in at a BBQ then convey your own precooked tofu canines and eat the pasta salad, green salad, baked beans and different meals that isn't have animals aspects in them. in case you're vegan it is your accountability to being your own nutrients until eventually you comprehend the host/hostess is offering vegan fare. no longer everybody cares approximately what you're ingesting, have confidence me. in case you do in comparison to what they're serving you do no longer could desire to eat it. in basic terms like meat eaters do no longer could desire to love your veggie burgers, all of those issues are approximately own selections.
