Just wondering.

By the way I asked this question to prove a point. I don't actually think vegetarians are afraid of meat. Some people in my life tell me I am afraid of a certain type of fruit because I don't like it in any of my food and it grosses me out to see others eat it around me. Maybe this is weird, but I am not afraid of it.

WTF? It's disgusting to not eat meat? I think it is disgusting to eat a piece of an animal's corpse! It's gotten to the point that I don't even like kissing my fiancee unless its just quick peck on the lips after she eats some meat. And trust me, as lustful a guy as me, that is pretty bad.

Are we afraid of meat? Some of us are afraid of the diseases that meat can carry (MAD COW is in America, too, you know!), but other than that, I'd say no. Why would we be?

I'm a vegetarian and I just choose not to eat meat. I still crave steak and beef jerky the most, but then I think about how awful it is to eat animals! It's horrible! I just can't get myself to eat meat. I haven't eaten meat in over year! I saw a slaughterhouse video and will never go back.

I'm not afraid of the meat itself. I'm am afraid of the bacteria it contains, the germs, feces, pus and other foreign organisms that it collects during the slaughtering and packing process.
I'm also afraid for the animals as they are cruelly killed - an absolutely horrid way to end their already-bad lives when they were treated wrongly on the farm.

I don't fear it. I just find the thought of slaughtering the animal, handling the flesh, preparing a dish containing another animal, and shoving it into my mouth to be rather disgusting and absolutely unnecessary.
You never know, though. I'll bet there's at least one person in the world who has an actual meat phobia :)

Not, they are actually not, just decided to cut out the consumption of meat in their meals. Most vegetarians have consumed meat at some point in their lives and decided not to do so for different reasons. The most common being for health purposes.

Most of my friends who are vegetarians would admit that do miss eating meat at times too.

No, vegetarianism is not a phobia of meat.

I however am a bit afraid of all the pesticides, risk of cancers, diseases, hormones, saturated fat, etc, that can be found in meat.
