Yes, they can. But, thanks to the patient privacy rights they cannot tell anyone without your consent if you're concerned about that. So, feel free to be honest with your doctor.

No, why does it matter? You should tell your doctor the truth. If you are sexually active you should see a doctor to be on the look out for STDs and to prevent pregnancy. It seems as though you may be embarrassed for some reason to be honest with your doctor. If something has happened to you tell someone. Doctors will help you and if you're embarrassed you're not the first person to be. Give it a try. Don't be afraid. Ask for help if you need it.

In some cases they can guess.
For example if you have a sexually transmitted disease they would probably assume that you were engaging in sexual activity. (However, some STDs can come from things like sharing towels.)
Also for a women if her hymen isn't intact it's a hint but that can also tear from other activities.Another way they might infer would be if skin on you genitals is torn, irritated, stretched, or bleeding.

Why are you worried? Provided you are over a certain age (it varries but in many states it is 14) the doctor is required by law to keep all information confidential. Your doctor should be informed if you're engaging in sexual activity so they can take care of you health needs to the best of their ability.

Telling your doctor that you are sexually active is the best thing that you can do.

Some people are afraid or embarrassed, and for a variety of reasons, however, remaining healthy and happy requires having a good and honest relationship with your health care providers.

Don't let them "figure out" that you are having sex -- tell them.

you doctor doesnt care if your a virgin or a diseased whore with serious issues. i mean come on it probably intrigues them a bit. im a paramedic and i like all that gross stuff, makes the day go by faster. besides they cant tell anyone.
if your a girl they will find out. if your having issues, they already know. if youre willing to take an std test its a dead giveaway. if your tying to hide this from somebody, you better watch the insurance bill becuase it gives a semi detailed list of what went on at your appointmrnt

in case your hymen is torn, which that is often in the course of the first time you've sex, the well being care service will be conscious of (assuming he's authorized to envision there). notwithstanding the hymen can in certain circumstances be torn different concepts, so the well being care service can basically infer that that is in all possibility or no longer, yet no certain answer. also, searching on the position you stay, there's a confidentiality regulation and also you would possibly want to likely tell your well being care service now to not launch that options for your mom and father.

Not always. For girls, if the hymen is broken it would historically mean she isn't a virgin, but there are a lot of physical activities that can cause it to rupture without having sex.

So there isn't really any conclusive way for them to determine if you have.
