If you're able to work, it's unlikely that you'll be eligible for benefits due to your diabetes. There is however a benefit called Disability Working Allowance. I'm not sure what the eligiblity is though.
The best people to ask are Citizens Advice. Don't ask at the Job Centre, they'll palm you off with rubbish. They get a bonus according to how much cash they don't pay out to those who need it.

As applies to the UK.....
It would depend how bad the eye problems are, if they are severe enough for you to be considered partially sighted then there would be benefits from that....but be careful! If you drive and register as partially sighted you may encounter problems and have to pass a medical every year to keep your licence. You need to talk to the DWP, they can advise. You may be entitled to DLA (Disability Living Allowance), the DWP can advise on that too. See link below for DWP website.

You should get free eye tests, glasses etc. (and prescriptions!). There are benefits available for those registered blind or partially sited but dunno if you fit into that or not? Sorry I can't remember the name of it but in the front of the phone book on the help and advise page there is a phone no. for disability advise - I phoned them once and they were extremely helpfull. Otherwise you could phone your local benefits office or job center plus (as they also deal with disability benefit applications). Generally it's only possible to get benefits for aditional expenses due to illness - extra supervision for kids, a wadge if you couldn't work, or specialist support/equiptment etc. but anyway it's worth a try! Good luck xx

If in Uk you are entitled to free prescriptions if the Diabetes is controlled by other than diet....you also are entitled to free eye test, (retinal examination) which are essential...see your GP who has to sign a form, quite straightforward.

You may be entitled to a medical card, call in to your local "CAB" (Citizens Advice Bureu, or how ever you spell it), and they can tell you, alternatively, contact the department of health on-line

It would depend whether you are classified as blind or partially blind - then I think you may get some help such as DLA or something else. I would suggest you go to Citizens advice and ask there to get proper correct advice

If your mobility is OK and you do not require help with personal care, then no. However if you do, then look at DLA on the gov.uk site (look for the disabled link).
