i had unprotected sex 4 days ago and am scared i might have an std how long do i wait to do a test?

You dont wait! Go! Now! If you have unprotected it should be with some one youve been dating for a long time/plan to spend your life with or at least a long time with.
Some one who you trust because any one can lie and say their clean, and before you know it youve got a disease you cant get rid of (happened to my younger cousin) so sad. Please be careful

Just keep having unprotected sex and you will not have to worry...You will be Dead! Is that a shocker? It should be because the STDs of today are not cured with a pill they are cured with a dirt nap. AIDS takes a while to show positive weeks maybe months. There are so many different STDs that one should probably test several times for a year.

Run out and get tested as soon as possible. Don't wait for symptoms, as many STDs can go unnoticed until they've caused permanent damage: disfigurement, infertility, or even death. Be advised that some tests, such as an AIDS test, may have to be repeated in 3-6 months. And next time, insist on a condom.

In 3 months because it takes time for antibodies to show up. Also, keep in mind that some things, like HIV can take years-even up to 10 to show up.

u should get to a medical center specialized in std. they have medications that can stop the disease in a short period after seaxual intercourse. dude, if i were u, i would get off the computer right now and get to the hospital now. every second counts. good luck and Godspeed!

Well, I would say the odds are that you were ok, BUT if you are duly concerned because of aspects of the person you know about...have a test as soon as possible. Then, if you are clean, come see me... :)

it takes some STD's months to show up if you really want to know have the person that you were with tested

See your doctor as soon as possible. Herpes is easier to diagnose when there are sores. You can start treatment sooner and perhaps have less pain with the infection.
