Dear Albert,
First of all accept my heartiest congratulations that you have an excellent heart which is resistant to average exercise, that's you can even do better and harder exercise without straining your, it's a God gift. Mine was even less that's is between 70 to 80 beats /minute, and on doing a 100 meters dash, my heart rate would barely touch. EVENTUALLY I ENDED AS A SPLINTER.
I was selected directly as a Doctor Captain in armed forces.
So you are one of the best of the best.
Let me know if you want to join our Marine Corps.
Lovingly,
Dr.Q.

No -- You are fine. The heart rate is different for different people.
In the first place, monitor your heart rate and blood pressure regularly for a few days to get an average. Keep this handy.
A slight variation, + / - , is ok, so do not worry and go ahead with your basketball.

Remember, physical exertion will increase the heart beat and there will be an increased heart rate.

Good luck.

a resting heart rate of 82 is completely normal, heart rate will vary as much as 20 beats per minute from one person to the next, it is an individual thing. You have no heart problem.

It may be a little on the high side but it is not unusual. Different people have different heart rates even if everything else is about the same.

Your heart rate falls in the normal ranges. Nothing to worry about at this point.

Causes for higher pulse rate (> 100 bpm) should be found out. Check for overactive thyroid. Consult a cardiologist.
