Go immediately to Walmart or any drugstore and purchase some RID. Follow the directions exactly. You will need to do a follow up treatment and it would be best advise everyone with whom you share a restroom of your condition so they too can be treated.

Here's some more information that might help:

Definitive treatment comes from the following drugs:

Permethrin 5% (Elimite, Acticin): Be sure to get the 5% cream formula because crabs may be resistant to the 1% liquid form (Nix).
Apply to affected area and leave on for 10 minutes. Rinse with warm water afterward.
Avoid mucous membranes, which are found at the tip of the penis and the opening of the vagina.
Repeat anti-lice treatment in 7-10 days to kill nits that may have hatched.

Lindane (Kwell): An alternative treatment when Elimite is not available.

Apply for 10 minutes then rinse with warm water.
Lindane should not be used on children.
If it is used, follow the same precautions as for Elimite.
Repeat anti-lice treatment in 7-10 days to kill nits that may have hatched.

Use over-the-counter antihistamines such as diphenhydramine (Benadryl) for itching.
Combing hair is important to remove eggs. A variety of combs are available commercially. They are sold in most drugstores and online. A popular model is the LiceMeister, which is a product of the National Pediculosis Association.
Some doctors recommend trimming your pubic hair with a nonsharp electric razor in order to cut the number of lice and eggs present.

Over-the-counter lotions that contain the chemical permethrin corresponding to Rid and Nix will do away with the lice. (talk to your health care provider before using any product that contains the chemical lindane, which can also be poisonous, above all for unborn children.) After washing with the lotion, use a first-rate-toothed comb to brush out the crabs and their eggs (called nits). Your sexual associate(s) have got to be treated as good, and all apparel or bedding that could be infested ought to be washed in very hot water or dry-cleaned. In some cases, garb, towels, or bedding could have to be washed once or twice before they're thoroughly lice-free.

Permethrin cream, which you can buy from the pharmacy.

Follow the directions with the tube, and make sure you wash any clothes, towels, bedclothes, you've used in the previous week or so in the hot wash in the washing machine.

You need to do a second treatment a week after the first.

And Steve needs to do the same.

Hi Bowman,

Yes, over the counter products, like Kwelada, work well. Some drug stores will sell herbal products as well that are not as harsh as the chemical ones. Another product that works well is Teatree oil. Just becareful, teetree can really dry out your skin.

Cheers.

ok, first of all, you don't have to shave. It doesn't get rid of them. You need to go to the store, they have shampoo's for it. If you don't want to do that, mayonaisse or olive oil kills them- learned it in nursing school you have to leave it on for a few hours. Sounds gross, but it does work. It kills the bugs themselves but not eggs, as with the shampoos... you'll have to pick them out. good luck!

There is a shampoo for lice/craps that use can buy at any drugstore. You'll have to shave your pubic hairs also.

Shave your pubic hair/as much of your body hair off as possible. Either go to a doc, an STD or medi-clinic, or ask a pharmacist for ointment/treatment for body lice.

Any over the counter lice treatment should do the trick. Just follow the directions on the bottle.
