I was recently diagnosed with pneumonia and put on anti-biotics. Its been almost 2 weeks since they did the x-ray and blood work and I am having very severe pains in my left side right under my ribcage. I asked the doctor about it yesterday and he told me that is normal from the fluid or plurasy in the lung. He said it could last up to 2 more weeks. Has anyone else ever had pneumonia with these symptoms? It just really hurts. Curious.............thanks much

not a fun thing to go through, but it will get better. if you are still on antibiotic continue also try standing in a steamy shower to loosen up your muscles. it has always helped me. Hope you get to feeling better

I had pneumonia twice. Once when I was 12 and again when I was 18. I know the pain that you are describing and yes it is normal. It hurt me just to breath and move. It will eventually go away, but for right now you just have to tough it out.

Hope you feel better soon.
