A heart attack (medical name myocardial infarction) occurs when a coronary artery suddenly becomes blocked. A coronary artery sits on tops of the heart muscle and supplies the heart muscle with oxygen and other vital nutrients. When the artery becomes blocked, part of the heart muscle will die and scar, if oxygen does not return immediately after the blockage.

A person suffering from a heart attack will have sudden central chest pain which can go down the right arm and neck, sweatiness, and be short of breath. This is a medical emergency, requiring urgent admission to a hospital accident and emergency department.

The hospital treatment would consist of oxygen, monitoring of the heart electrical conduction system, rest and drugs to try and dissolve the blood clot.

What, do you want to know about them. They're caused by the arteries in the heart from being clogged up with fat and etc. That's why you're supposed to not eat that many fatty foods.
