I Love Mexican Food, the problem is that about 99% of the restaurants in the USA don't have autentic Mexican food. They served Mextex a convination of Mexican and Texas food. to realy savor Mexican food you have to make it yourself or go to Mexico.

I'm a Texan... I love Mexican food and Tex-Mex (somewhat different).
The folks before me are absolutely right, if you go to an authentic Mexican food restaurant, they won't know what you're talking about, or they will bring something VERY different out, if you order things like chimichangas, enchiladas, burritos, etc.
I like both. I love enchiladas and fajitas, but carne asada and verde chicken, or chicken mole, are my favorites. You're more likely to find the latter three at an authentic Mexian restaurant.
Something else kind of funny, where I grew up (and where I live now), flour or corn tortillas, served with butter and salsa, are brought out with the chips and salsa, kind of as complimentary appetizers. In other areas of the US, just asking for that will get you some REALLY weird looks.
I pretty much thought I was going to die when I moved out of state for a few years, and there was only one Mexican food place (other than On the Border, which does not count) in the whole town...........
Mmmmm.... DANG IT! See, now I have to try to find someone selling Carne Asada at 9:00 in the morning. Thanks a lot.

I like Mexican food a lot, I live in Texas and I grew up eating Tex- Mex as well. I do not really care for Taco Bell because it is not real Mexican food to me.

Real, yes. I particularly like the cuisine of the Yucatan. I do not like the drive in Mexican, New Mexican, some Ted Mex and most of all Chili not made in texas.

LOL In the beginning of my pregnancy, I was craving all sorts of spicy foods! I craved chili, Mexican food and anything possible. Some of the spicy food I ate, I was surprised I could eat. Yes, that is what pregnancy can do to you. I am having a girl. Please be prepared though about the Mexican food too because it can give you terrible heartburn, which I had a little bit throughout pregnancy. If you get heartburn, please remember the tums!!!!! Congratulations on the pregnancy and good luck!!!

Yup! Although the best Mexican food is the one cooked by my mom and my aunts....I'm not too fond of what you find in Mexican restaurants. I've found few Mexican restaurants I liked.

I am American and I lived in Mexico for about a year and a half. Now that I have moved back to the States, I miss the food!! Especially the tamales, carnitas, pozole and tacos...yum!!! The only food I tried that I didn't enjoy was menudo...it was like eating a book made out of a rubbery towel! ;)
