I've been haveing pain in my neck and it seems to be coming from a vain in my neck on the right side it gets worse when my heart starts pounding.I had a TIA (mini stroke) a couple of days ago and I have really high blood pressure

You should first understand the nature of your disease and check out in ER or consultant.
The only thing that gets stiff during your hypertensive crisis is your carotid artery and now it is getting thickened upto so it can be a referred pain, however since you had TIA there is jugular vein engorgement.
Also have Cervical spondylitis ruled out.

Go to the doctor! Take your blood pressure medication, they must have given you one, and if they didn't give you a blood thinning medication, ask about one. Go to the doctor now or the ER, I wouldn't mess around with pain in my veins (which can be caused by clots) given your recent history. Better safe than sorry.

It is a large vein in the neck that supplies blood to your head part. when it colapse the supply of blood to your brain will deminished and it can cause Comatos (wrong spelling).
