Does anyone have any ideas for a dinner party? I am planning on having lime sherbert punch, marinated, grilled, steak strips, iced w/ sprinkles brownies, 'white trash' (sort of like chex mix, only with no flavoring and 'glued' into clusters with white chocolate), sweet potato casserole, balloons, & some streamers, but I can't think of anything else and a there's going to be a lot of mouths to feed. i am 13 and this will be my first dinner party. thanks! btw, it is going to be very informal.

You have got a great menu, so far! I would add in a big tossed salad, and some nice rolls, too!
Or if not a tossed salad, maybe a potato or macaroni one.
Otherwise I think you're doing pretty good yourself! How many people are you feeding?

NO WINE. You should give them something instead of wine. Like grape juice in a wine glass. Or sparkling apple cider in a champagne glass. But no alcohol for a 4 year old and her friends. They won't like it, plus if that's okay for you as a mother now, your daughter will expect you to be okay with drinking excessively and smoking when she's older. But anyway, for the 5 courses, you should make something that all little kids like, but make it fancy. For example, pizza or PB&J cut by cookie cutters into cute shapes. Or soup or salad in cute bowls. But if you want specifics, you should have the first course, the appetizer, be some kind of bread. Garlic bread, cheese bread, maybe a sourdough baguette. Second course, a soup or salad with tasty dressing. Third, some fruit cut into spheres, cubes, stars, etc. Fourth, a PB&J or pizza, just how I described before. And fifth, a big fat sundae. Dessert is always the best for a toddler! But let them make their own sundae and have several different types of ice cream, whipped cream, chocolate, strawberry, and carmel sauce, marshmellows, chocolate bars all crushed up, sprinkles, gummy bears, brownies, etc. And set it up on a table and let them make their own. There will be a mess, but they'll have so much fun! Also, about the forks and knives, it might be too complicated for them, so just let them have a fork and a spoon that they use for all courses. I mean, they're 4 for crying out loud! So don't expect them to act all proper, because it won't be a fun birthday party. Let them be little kids! This party should be all about pretending.

I think all you need to add is a big green salad w/ choice of dressings!

You may want to do a run-through of this party on your family, so you can test your recipes and timing of cooking/preparation.

I wish you much success on your first dinner party. I would add

a pasta salad
sweet and sour kielbasa (b-b-q sauce and grape jelly in a crock pot).
fruit salad (all your favorite fruits....canned or fresh)
