How many of you like the rain? How does it make you feel? Right now, it's sprinkling and it's going to rain all morning. It makes me feel great and creative, energetic too. The office window in my house is literally open, and I tookd the screen out, to hear it. Everything is turned off except the computer and it's just so "spiritual" for me. How does it make you feel and how do you react?

I love the rain. When I grew up we had a cottage in northern Ontario. It was a huge cabin with open walls. I loved the sound of the heavy summer rains beating on the roof and pouring and dripping the the wet forest after it stopped.

I have friends who live in remote places and when I visit them I often stay in small guest houses or old rv homes and the frequent rain is the most blessed sound to me. We are so lucky to have it. It is soothing.

When I was in India last year during monsoon season, the deafening THUNDER of just the rain was so wonderful! One experience I will never forget. My man arranged for me to have an ayurvedic massage on my first day there. It was in a small professionally set up clay shack with a tin roof. I was being massaged from top to toe by two women using their feet (now ThAT in itself was PARADISE) but meanwhile, the rain was beating so heavily on the roof I could hear nothing but the rain. So my whole existence for awhile was the rain deafening me and these amazing feet that were also putting me into a total "zone" of relaxation.

In India I walked out in the rain a few times but, alas, being Muslim, my husband did not like the fact my clothing stuck to me so I had to stop. LOL.

If it rains I open the windows too if possible, just to hear it. I love the rain in the winter and do not mind it at all. It is so cleansing and ... reminds me of how blessed we are by Allah to have the gift of water to replenish our spirits as well as our bodies.

Anything to do with water pleases me. That is why I live beside the ocean. I need water in my life beyond merely drinking it!

How I feel about the rain depends on the season.

When my children were younger, I loved taking them out in a hard, warm rain. We delighted in getting ourselves soaked and jumping in puddles. Now that they are older, we enjoy sitting on the porch during a summer thunderstorm. They're especially beautiful at night when the lightning ignites the sky.

Rain in autumn depresses me, because I love the spring and summer most of all. Autumn rains herald in 6 or 7 months of bad weather. Each rainy day in autumn means one less day of fleeting sunshine.

I don't care for winter, but I do enjoy a heavy snowfall. However, I love ice storms-they're so beautiful and dangerous. Nothing is more gorgeous than trees bent under the weight of ice that shines in the sunlight like crystal. I've noticed that some of the sunniest days of winter immediately follow an ice storm.

Spring rains tend to perk me up, as long as the temperatures are warm. They replenish the earth, allowing the plants and flowers to spring up and cover the land in their beauty once again.

Cool question, sister.

Love the rain, especially during the summer when you can really smell the rain coming. Never really thought about it being spiritual, but I know I feel really peaceful and tranquil. I tend to be more creative when it's rainy.

I love the rain, but only at night. It's so relaxing to listen to it hit the roof when I am in bed. I hate rain during the day because I am always outside doing things and it's much easier to accomplish things without an umbrella and wet streets.
