Do you immediately think it is bad or take is as a compliment or not fussed either way

I'd take it as a pseudo-compliment from a woman (she wouldn't have said anything if I looked really bad), a compliment from a straight man (he wouldn't have noticed at all if I didn't look good), and an insult from a gay man (would have given a real compliment if he'd had one).

That's a tricky one-
I guess it really depends
on whether it is a male
or female colleage making the comment.

If I felt insulted- I would probably reply-
"Hmmm....funny, you don't."

If I felt complimented, I would simply say,
"Thank you."

And if I felt humorous,
I would probably reply:

"I am - a UFO beamed me aboard last
night and when I awoke this morning-
I found myself in this strange body...." LOL!!

Well, you would know what you did differently that day, but it could be something good because even if you look pretty male co-workers aren't allowed to say so, it would be sexual harrassment and to say you look ugly would be unprofessional so "different" is about all they can say..you will have to just read body language and facial expression to tell if it's good or bad I guess.

Solution, slowly look them up and down, then say "you too" then turn around and walk away. I promise you they will either go out of their way to apologize, or hide from you with embarrassment.

I would not take it to mean anything, he/she did not give a compliment, they did not say you look terrible so no; i would not take it to mean anything bad. I probably would give it very little thought after I have gotten past them. God bless****

I'd ask them how. From there answer, I'd determine my reaction.

Why are you worried about that? No matter what they think.

Tell them "why thank you ... I think" and see if they catch it.
