Gratvol:
Yes, if you can prove that it was because he was Jewish.

to Gratvol:
That counts.

to Temsah:
It depends on whether you can prove that all the 6 million+ people Stalin or Mao killed were killed because they offended atheism.

Oh you mean like when my father Could not get a job in his field in Communist Russia because he was Jewish?

Yes, my father received a degree in Aerospace engineering and was slated to work as a rocket scientist.

but because he had the word Jew on his documents he was not allowed to get the security clearance for the job.

If you do not believe me why dont you do some research in government anti-semitsm in the Soviet Union in the 1970's.

You will see I am not making it up.

Hold the phone people. Persecuted? Persecuted? I define persecution as out and out hatred, discrimination, and violence against a said individual. The persecution of blacks prior to the Civil Rights movement. The persecution of Jews during the Holocaust. THAT'S persecution.

So my answer would be no one has "persecuted" me in my lifetime because of my faith.

Now, I have lost friends because they couldn't deal with the fact that I became a Christian. I have had people tell me I am intolerant and evil and hateful because I follow Jesus Christ. I've been told that the Jesus fish on desk at work made people "uncomfortable" and that I should remove it. I've had people roll their eyes at me when I mention God's name. I had my own family disown me when I got saved. I had one very militant lesbian spit at me on the sidewalk because of my Christian t-shirt.
Discrimination? Yes. Hateful? Yes. Ignorant? Yes.
But persecution? Hardly.

When they haul the lions again, then I'll cry persecution.

No faith or religion or even a belief system to promote.

But I certainly do not trust or respect the religious types.

I even fear that the religiously driven would turn disbelief into a belief system and try to enforce it.

Edit to gratvol. I think in Russia at that time they likely regarded Jewish as Zionists and likely defectors, focused more on the nationality aspect than upon religion or race.

LOL of course he can't prove it, what, you ask for papers showing that? Come on, Communists have persecuted people because they believed in God, no matter if they were Christians of Jews... But Atheists DO persecute people who believe in God, there are even those who say they have "converted" Christians to atheism... Which is gross!

Yeah, there's alot of hate bashing against religious people nowadays. Everyone persecutes everyone, no matter what the beliefs they have. They always believe someone's wrong.
