Absolutely, 100% agree with you. I have my own spiritual beliefs which are based on love, not fear or control. The major religions have always been about control of the believers through fear - hell and brimstone. The Catholic church in Western Religion has been the greatest tool for killing, revenge and war for thousands of years - there are countless thousands of examples for this. How the Jewish people have suffered througout history!!
How can relgions even speak about the love of God, when they practice such abominations and promote racial disharmony. I won't even mention the current hatred of the Muslim fanatics causing untold suffering and war - No! I won't mention that !

Religion is simply an excuse for greedy men to fight wars in order to gain power.
If they did not have religion they would simply use ethnicity, political differences, or simple propaganda.
In the end religion is like a tool. It can cause peace or war depending on whose hand it is in, but to blame the tool vindicates the one wielding it.

No. There would be the same amount of wars with or without religion. However, religion is an easy scapegoat.

Man made religions certainly do cause war but only because we are all so greedy and power hungry. So I wouldn't blame religion. I would blame those who practice the religion.

Religion seems to be the basis of much conflict throughout history. Does make one wonder.

You must really hate those choral style hymns, bake sales, revival tents, Bible bumper stickers and colorful frocks.
I hear the liturgy books have been especially effective in aerial bombardments, and the prayer shawls are secretly torcher implements.
Seriously, how dumb can you be?
