If you do you will loose the warranty, are you going to risk that and what about the drivers you will need!

Think again if I were you.

Unfortunately you can't "Downgrade" and that's what you'll get if you try and install XP over Vista
You can delete the partition on your hard-drive (therefore removing all traces of Vista) and do a clean install of XP ... just be sure to download all the drivers you'll need to get everything running under XP
I did exactly what you're thinking of doing with a new Asus laptop ... a lot of the drivers installed from the Vista recovery DVD but some, like the Bluetooth Stack, had to be downloaded specifically for XP ... all up my driver download was 433 MB ... but with a lappy spec'd out to run Vista Home Premium to it's full potential ... it "flies" with XP on it
Good Luck

Sure. Just pop in your Windows XP Professional disc, restart, follow the directions, and it will naturally overwrite/replace Windows Vista. There will be an option to delete the "partition" that Windows Vista is on. Just delete it, when it asks, when you arrive at that step.

Sure, just do a clean install of XP, like I assume you did with vista. I just had the tech guy here telling me I have a fault consistant with vista and that they wouldnt come out again, unless I swap back to XP before they come as they wont touch my vista. He said its simple to do just follow instructions.

Due to driver and warranty issues, you should NOT try to install your XP Pro. Call your laptop manufacturer and follow their advice.
