it's a sign of dehydration. if your urine turns dark brown or gold in color then it's a sign of severe dehydration and you could get very sick
steadily increase your fluid intake over the next 24 hours (try to get in a minimum of 8 glasses of water). when you notice your urine returning back to a pale yellow color then this means you've restored your fluid levels back to normal

That you are not drinking enough water throughout the day.
It could also mean you are taking a multivitamin or b-vitamin pill. The b vitamins make the urine bright yellow.
But if you are not taking a supplement, then it means you are basically dehydrated chronically.
Drink up!

I was told by a nurse once that it means you are not drinking enough water, and the more yellow it is, the more impurities are in your system. IE-if you drink a lot of soda, it is going to be bright yellow. It can also mean you are not hydrated enough.

It could mean many things depending on what other symptoms you have. The first thing I would say is try drinking more water and see if the problem clears up. If you have other symptoms like burning, etc., then it's possible it's a bladder infection. If you are concerned and don't want to give the water a chance to clear it up, then see your doctor.

Just like everyone else responding to this question, you need to drink more water... and if you already do drink more water than you need to eat healthy. If you are eating a lot of junk food and salty foods while not drinking enough water, you become moreso dehydrated. Just drink more water, if you don't like plain water, try getting flavored water not soda.

It's important that you drink at least 8 glasses or water...or at least try. Coffee, sodas, and other sugar drinks do not count.
