The Red key (or Blue in some cases) is a master from which you can programme additional keys. When buying a car you should always ensure that they supply the Master key.

If you leave a key near a magnetic source it is possible that it will corrupt the code and you will not be able to start the car.

A Ford dealer can supply a new key and will programme that key and any others that you have.

Cost I think is around £50.00 plus cost of key(s)

I have never known the color of the key to make any difference. If it opens the doors and starts the engine where does the problem come in?
