It taste burnt because coffee beans are roasted before they get its qualities. After roasting, they are grounded, then made into coffee and then dried before the final process of it becoming soluble.
Try this recipe, it works for me for most soluble coffee i use. 1 portion soluble coffee, 2 portions sugar and 3 portions creamer.
It gives a perfect taste for me.

The bitter taste but what solves that is if you go to the store and buy a containner of Chickory Root and put a teaspoon in the coffee pot,it tastes waaaaaaaaaaayyyy smoother!!!

well, coffee is made by grounding roasted coffee beans, so the burnt taste may be from roasting the beans.

...

If you really like coffee, you won't drink that
instant stuff. Unless you just want the
caffeine, in which case you put LIBERAL
amounts of milk/cream, sugar/sweetener.

When I drank coffee, I bought beans, put
the beans in a grinder, and brewed it.

Have a nice day.

depends on how they roasted the beans. some roasters do burn the beans and the result will be a burned flavor
