1-----After Abraham had lived ten years in the land of Canaan, Abram's wife Sarai took Hagar the Egyptian, her maid, and gave her to her husband Abram as HIS WIFE. -- GENESIS 16:3
2------So Hagar bore Abram a son; and Abram called the name of HIS SON, whom Hagar bore, ISHMAEL. - GENESIS 16:15
For the following fourteen years, Ishmael was Abraham’s only child.
If the Bible says he is a son then it is impossible to call the second son "his only son".
The only way to call Isaac "his only son" is to deny Ishmael was a son at all.
That is why Arabian history tells of Ishmael and Abraham being tested by God and a sacrificial animal was substituted.
That is why Muslims in the Hajj sacrifice an animal and commemorate Abrahams willingness to sacrifice his first born son....his only son before the birth of the Isaac.
The only way Isaac could be called the "only son" is to insert verses into the bible to cut Ishmael out of the family no matter how racist or cruel it may look !!
In fact a proof that the story of Ishmael teasing baby Isaac is fabricated is the fact that Ishmael and Hagar were sent into the desert by God when Ishmael was an infant not a 18 year old man who could carry his mother on his shoulder instead of her carrying him as the bible says !!

Sometimes reference is made to the following verses in the Book of Genesis :
“But My Covenant will I establish with Isaac” (Gen. 17:2)
“For in Isaac shall thy seed be called” (Gen. 21:12)
An interesting question is raised here : Is it possible that the writer(s) of this book (Genesis) inserted such statements to favor his own clan, himself being an Israelite ?
According to The Interpreters Bible :
“Many Israelites did not want a God who would be equally the God of all nations on the earth. They did not want one who would be impartial Holiness. They wanted a God who would be partial to them. So we read in Deutronomy of demands for a complete extermination of all non-Israelitish peoples of Palestine (Deutronomy 7:2) and as to the carrying out of that injunction read the harsh sentences of Deut. 20:10-17”(Interpreters Bible,Volume 1 , p. 575)

When these two verses (Gen. 17:21 and Gen.21:12) are examined within the context of other verses in the same book, it becomes evident that the Ishamaelites were included in God’s promises and His covenant with Abraham: God’s covenant with Abraham was made before the latter had any children (Gen. 12:13) It was reiterated after the birth of Ishmael and before the birth of Isaac (Gen. 17:4); ii) While Gen.21:12 indicates that in Isaac shall Abraham’s seed be called , the very following verse (Gen. 21:13) calls Ishmael Abraham’s seed; iii) As Isaac was blessed and hence is included in God’s promise.
“… of the son of the bondswoman (i.e. Ishmael) will I make a great nation because he is thy seed” (Gen. 21:13)

The reason this has any relevance is the fact that God chose the Ishmaelite lineage to father the “Prophet like unto Moses” (from the brother of Isaac) and God gave the Muslims the Holy Land 1300 years ago.
I would say some people just refuse to open their eyes and see that God has chosen which line would inherit the spiritual and material bounties and which line would be living under a curse.
Knowing this truth will be absolutely necessary to help recognize which lineage will father the Antichrist.

You almost had it then you, like Muhammad got confused and decided God was crazy or Moses, The fact is this story is found in Genesis or the first book of Moses...Lets suppose for a moment this is exactly the way God gave the story to Moses...Now what could it mean? Moses for sure was acquainted with the fact of Ishmael as it was him who first told us of Abraham and Ismael...Now we must decide why the he calls Issac the only son.... Now if we get over ourselves and stop deciding God is wrong or the Bible is corrupt or Moses insane we have to seek the truth from God..Now we understand that Issac int his same book was considered the promised child and Ishamael was sent away...okay we also know that God does send prpphesy to his prophets and in the bible there are many examples of the prophesies of a coming Messiah, Now if we read the astory with this in mind we see that God like Abrham sent his only begotten Son..hmm... Is this why for the sake of prophesy God said take your only Son? well lets see what is in common wiht God's Son..well we see that this son is ot be sacrificed, Was god's son to be sacrificed? Yes...hmm... nice start for a prophesy but we need more...Jesus the Son of God was ot be sacrificed..yep Christ oo was ot be sacrificed..coincidence? well lets see what else matchs up...saus Issac was to carry the wood for the Sacrifice, Did Christ carry wood to his sacrifice? Well , well, Coincidence, thats a lot fo coincidences ...well ok lets continue on...Issac on his waqy to being sacrificed notices there is no animal...okay dad heres the wood and the fire where is the lamb for the sacrifice? Abraham's response to his son? the lord will provide himslef a lamb...Hmm... could he have meant the holy lamb of God? Isaiah surely must have thought so he too prophsied the coming of the lamb of God, okay lets ee what we have so far to only sons, both carrying wood for there eventual sacrifice and prophsy of the coming of a sacrificial lamb...still a coincidence? well let's continue on...They trave for three days..hmm... sound familiar? Oh yeah Jonah was therr days in the belly of a whale...Jesus said destroyt his temple and I willr aise it in theree days...Jesus said a foolish and adulterous generation will seek a sign but all they will get is the sign of Jonah...Hmm...coincidence? Well lets continue on with this story Abrham is ready to sacrifice his son and God says stop
you will find a Ram in the hedges get him and sacrifice him in Issacs place, Hmm...didn't Abraham say Lamb? Could this be a mistake? okay lets get over the fact wer think God and Mioses are a couple of kooks or that the Bible is corrupt and seek the answer from God.. Moses says I will name this place Jehova Jirah which emans the lord will provide....because this is where I have said the lord will provide himself a lamb...Hmm....Lamb again did Moses or abrham or God forget it was a Ram???? okay lets continue on...Isaiah prohesied the lamb of God would come a Messiah who would atone for sin...hmm.. that sounds familiar...that is Isaiah 53...Now comes this man John the Baptist 800 years later saying The voice of one crying in the wilderness, Prepare ye the way of the Lord, make his paths straight.
John pointed at Christ and anounced behold the Lamb of God...
What did Jesus say?
Jesus himself interprets this passage as referring to him. Jesus said: "For I tell you that this scripture must be fulfilled in me, ‘And he was reckoned with transgressors’; for what is written about me has its fulfilment" (Luke 22:37, RSV). The quoted verse is Isaiah 53:12.
Jesus agreed with the prohesies of Isaiah 53 which predates him and we have written record of it from 250 BC..Jesus was in agreement with the prophets before him and did fufill the prohesies of Isaiah which foretold of him as Savior who would atone for sin with his life.
Isaiah 800 years before Christ made prophesies of the coming Messiah that he owuld be a savior and atone for the sins of his people wiht his blood. Christ did teach from Isaih and referenced Isaiah 53 as the prophesy he must fufill
The entirety of the Bible begining with the books of Moses through the book of Revelation show God's plan of Salvation through Jesus Christ who is the Holy Son of God, Anyone who knows God would know the Son Jesus himslef said and the only way to the Father is throgh the Son...Why because he provided the way to God through the atonement...We have the word of God and it passed through all of the prophets and Christ himself and all are in agreement as Moses said all prophets must be...Muhammad was not in agreement with the prophts of God nor in agreement wiht the word of God, Jesus is that word of God and did pay the penalty of death for us...Moses warned of false prophets that they would not be in agreement wiht the prophets of God and the word of God...Jesus gave the same warnign all prophets are in agreement...muhammad is nto ina grement wiht the prophets of God nor the word of God and is therfore a false prophet.

Where are you getting the "only son" statement about Isaac? The Lord clearly made a covenant with Isaac Which he did not make with Ishmael although Ishmael still got some blessings for being a son of Abram. Notice that AFTER Abram had Ishmael God changed Abram's and his wife Sarai's names to Abraham and Sarah respectively, to signify that there was a new order with the covenant He made with them so consequently Isaac is the son of promise under that covenant (Gen chapter 17) and not Ishmael.

I believe that Ishmael was the slave child of a Slave and Abraham. I believe that he was not the son that God had promised Sarah (Abraham's wife) and Abraham. Isaac is the child that was promised by God. Sarah because of her lack of faith offered up her slave and Abraham did not want the person to inherit his property to be the child of a slave, he wanted to have a child with his wife. This is understandable. So When Sarah conceived she and Abraham decided that the Slave and the Slaves child should not be around because out of jealousy the slave and slaves child may threaten the life of the true child of Abraham. It was Sarah's lack of faith that caused this mess, and the Muslims want so bad to have the slave inherit Abraham's property, but everyone knows that you would never give your property to a slave when you have a son of your own with your wife. So we have this five thousand year old war that is going on between the chosen children of God and the Slaves of Sarah. It is really sad that the Muslims don't come into the family through the Son of God, Jesus Christ, Then they would have equal partnership. But as long as they stay in the place that they are, they will always be the ones in bondage. Just relatives to a slave child. No inheritance. It could all change Through Jesus Christ. Quit fighting and killing and come to know Jesus. Your freedom awaits you.The Jews are the chosen ones, how do you think that they won the six day war when everyone on all sides attacked them? God won it for them and God will do it again, if necessary.

it was different women. Ishmael was just a concubines child that Abram had by sleeping with the maid. Abram's wife was unable to bear child but God promised them that he would give Abraham a son but he had to wait for God's will. He is considered his only son because it is his only son from his wife and not maid servant.
Please read the entire stories in the bible and not just pick out a few verses here and there.

He was a son, but NOT involved in the PROMISE of Genesis 12.
You COMPLETELY MISS the significance of:
Genesis 21:12 But God said to him, “Do not be so upset about the boy and your servant Hagar. Listen to what Sarah tells you, because your family line will continue through Isaac. 13 I will make the son of your servant into a nation also. I will do it because he is your child.”

The thing was Issac was the only son, not of Abraham but of Sarah.
That is why Biblical commentators read the verse "Take your son, your only son, Issac to be a dialouge.
Besides the Bible has a 2,500 year edge on the Koran.
Which one do you think got it right?

Is this important? As far as I know, Abraham was willing to sacrifice Isaac, and God said "don't bother, your willingness is all I was concerned about", to paraphrase (very badly).
