What's the best way for me to take screen captures of a DVD so I can print off photos? I have a mac but any advice appreciated. I know there are screen capture programs out there but the quality isn't that great when printed out.

You are not going to get "excellent" quality because the DVD resolution isn't *that* great.

Assuming NTSC video, full D1 DVD resolution is 720x480. As you can imagine, that's like 2 inches by 1.5 inches at 300 dpi (well, roughly speaking), which is now considered the LOW-END of laser printers.

So software have to make up the rest of the pixels if you print them full page or whatever. That's why they look... well, not that great.

Honestly, even HD-DVD or BluRay aren't gonna help you too much, as those basically goes to 1080 x 960 or something like that, still not that great.

you are able to honestly attempt making use of print demonstrate to seize the image, then attempt printing it. despite if it is going to possibly look undesirable: photos on the internet are no longer meant for printing and could be low decision and pixelated.
