Is it OK (in Canon Law) for a man whose wife died and who has kids to become ordained as a Roman Catholic Preist?

Are there any known examples of this?

Yes it is ok. My last parish priest was a widower. He had kids and grandkids.

Cheers :-)

There are several examples of married people today that became priests.

I believe it requires specific permission from the Vatican, but it dose happen these days.

So I imagine it is even easier for a widower to become a Priest.

Yes. He can also become a monk. And the RC church takes married priest from the Episcopal church too. Often Episcopal priest want to convert and they can come to the RC church with their family and become RC priest. That fact is not well known, but it does happen.

i can't think of any examples but yes it is aceptable, you would have to meet some requirements/regulations however. for more information you may wish to contact the local parish priest,or you may also wish to ask an expert panel of catholic apologists. you can find a good forum at www.ewtn.com
you may ask your question and experts will assist you with whatever you are wanting to find out.

Well, there are women pastors now. There was one in particular who was well known in the 70's. God gave her a dynamic healing ministry. Her name was Kathryn Kuhlman. Also, Marilyn Hickey is also another dynamic woman pastor. But these women are of a another denomination yet they are known all over the world.

lol, it sure is. They don't have to take vows of chastity anymore either. My ex husbands mother in West Babylon NY has a priest in her catholic church who became a priest after he was married with children........go figure.
