Learning to eat only what we need is the key. The proper combination of different food groups is the best choice. I have taken a recent look at the newly approved Nutrition guide put out by the FDA and it is a fat factory in the making, like eating 6 to 11 portions of cereals a day is the right step towards better nutrition. The amount of processed food and the hidden sodium and fat in most of it is partly to blame. The fact that most of us have to learn to eat right is also a key factor. We are bombarded by companies that want us to consume their products so everything now is turning into low something or free of, when in fact it is only an illusion. A nation of couch potatoes is not exactly healthy and our stressed hectic life does not help. People now live so fast it is hard for the body not to be affected, you cannot even digest in peace anymore. Many fast food chains offer jumbo sized servings that would feed three persons in one sitting, that is obscene. Food is also used as the means for many unhappy persons to feel better, and while unhappy with the results, they only eat more. This is a vicious circle that will eventually clog the public health services. Instead of dealing with emergencies, they have to deal with illnesses that could be prevented with proper nutrition and exercise. The amount of instant and miraculous solutions that will give you a perfect and slim body in 15 minutes a day, while never having to give up being a couch potato, are misleading, false and cruel, because they bring about false hopes and expectations. Get rid of all these problems and you have the cure for obesity.

The best thing I did was gastric bypas. However If I was doing it today I would do the adjustable gastric band.
