I have a ford taurus. I was wondering if there was a way for me to reset it for my car. If there was a special "button press" for me too use. A certain way for me to program it for my car? I know that I can take it to a dealer. But I dont really like the fact that I have to spend $75 dollars just to get it reset to my car. Is there a number that I can press. My keyless entry has three buttons. Lock, unlock, and panic.
Responses would be GREAT. My mother has the other additional keyless entry but thats not the best help for me. HELP ME PLEASE.....

Yep it's simple. Insert key into ignition, turn ignition to the RUN position (do NOT start car) and back off repeatedly until the doors lock/unlock this tells you the computer is ready to program a new FOB quickly press the lock/unlock button on the fob and the cars system will recognize it and program its signal for use.

The owner probably want it back cuz those are kind of expensive to replace. If it have a Fetch 365 tag on it, then you should return it by going to www.fetch365.com. I don't know about Ford but I know all my Infiniti keys came with a fetch365 tag that allow people to return the key and the keyless entry back to its rightful owner.

If it doesn't come with Fetch tag then I guess you can keep it. If you want to use it on your car you will have to take it to your local Ford dealership and have them program it to match the system on your car. It will cost anywhere around $40-$100 Our dealership dealt with this problem all the time.

From my understanding, the fob you found has to be identical to the one you have. If so, then there is a sequence to follow, and I can't remember it off the top of my head, but it was something like turning the key on and off eight times and stopping with the key in the on position and then pressing the fob and holding it until the door locks move, then it is programmed. You can go to www.blueovalnews.com and then go to the how-to sections and look if they have it on there, you might have to register with them to get to the how to section, but it isn't bad they don't bug you or send email either. The instructions for programming the remote is in the owner's manual, as well as for programming the keys. You will need all your remotes to program them all at the same time, otherwise, you will be right back where you are now, the remote that didn't get programmed will not work.
