There is no such thing as evil. There are only good examples. Some things are good examples of what should be done, and some things are good examples of what should not be done. We can see that when someone does an "evil" deed, there are consequences, just as there are consequences when someone does something "good". Good and evil are dualities that do not really exist. Things just "are". And there are reactions for every action. We can look around and see that when we steal, the probably and likely reaction is loss of status, imprisonment, or physical injury to ourselves. Therefore, we can reason that it is not a worthy endeavor to steal. The same reasoning can apply to "good" deeds. If I give my coat to a homeless person, they will suffer less, I have gained the gratitude of another person, and I have contributed to the well-being of my fellow man. It is reasonable that I continue to do such things, as it promotes a loving and protective society.

We don't need evil. We need love. A child does not need to know what evil is in order to learn. In fact, we protect our children from the facts of evil as long as possible, so that they can retain their innocence. This is what we need. It is our own innocence that needs protection, so that we may know love for its own sake, not as a comparison to something else.

NO! Why would one want to know Evil! Learning experiences are positive & negative, NOT Good VS. Evil! I don't whine about Satan, I Warn about Satan, that's a BIG DIFFERENCE!

You do not have a choice. The word "need" is probably not the appropriate one to use. It is just that life exists in two opposing nature. Dark and light, White and Black, and so are Good and Evil. The Ying and Yang, Beginning and End and Life and Death.
You may whine about satan but isn't it that ther also who whine about God?

when Adam and Eve first were created they had open relationship with there creater and we are told in John 1 that the second member of The Godhead Jesus Christ was/is that person of The Godhead that was the active agent and when mankind sinned we [you and me] had that plug as it were pulled from the wall, we all in this world will DIE, and there is not one word in all the bible that says it can't be TODAY, Jesus came so "IF" we will meet the conditions upon eternal life is offered live FOREVER, as apposed to dyeing with satan so he doesn't have to die by himself, so does satan still sound like a good guy to you, compare satan's "i" problem in Isaiah 14:12-15 with that of Jesus Christ in Isaiah 53 and see which one you would rather be, free bible lessons www.amazingfacts.org talk to me via email wgr88@yahoo.com God bless

great point.

People think Satan is some evil force that fights God.

What they dont realize is that Satan is simply a servant of God doing his bidding.

His job is to make life a challenge. After all what would be the point in reward if we did not do anything to earn it.

You should read Paradise Lost...or at least get a spark notes for it. It goes into GREAT detail about this topic...sort of...it says (among other things) that evil and sin are all apart of God's plan too.

it's really provocative sutff...
