Some are here...Some are there...witha Vacation in the middle...
I work at the grocery store and this old lady keeps asking "When are you going to get your front teeth?"
I tell her that I had a partial but it didn't fit anymore and I am not replacing it!
Basically...Leave me alone!
So this week, she came back & asked if I had finished my dental work...like I ran out to get teeth FOR HER!
I told her that I'm beautiful even without teeth. You barely see my upper teeth. People tell me all the time they didn't notice until I gave them my $2 smile. (I also call summer teeth a $2 smile because the tooth fairy would leave $1 per tooth!)
Anyway, the old lady said there is NO WAY I can be beautiful unless I had my teeth.
I said my daughter has cancer & is BALD...and I would never tell her she wasn't beautiful.
Then the lady said "Well I'll just stop giving you compliments!" Like telling me I look bad without my teeth qualifies as compliments.
So my question is WHAT PASSES FOR MANNERS??

That woman was WAY out of line! She was very disrespectful and didn't show ANY manners at all! You don't deserve to be talked to that way. And you don't owe anyone any explanation!

Yes-- you CAN be beautiful without all your teeth. Just as your daughter can be beautiful without her hair.

How dare this woman say these things to you.

I think manners went out years ago unfortunately. It seems that if some thing happens to cross someones mind they feel they have the right to say it regardless of who it will hurt.

Don't worry about ignorant people, Just realize they have nothing more important in their life than your teeth that should answer your question.

They are lonely pathetic people who have nothing to do but try to find imperfection in every one.

I know a lot of people with what you would call summer teeth, and they are very beautiful.

The thing with old people is that they don‘t care anymore what anybody else thinks of the,, so they just say what comes to their mind. I bet if she was younger, she would THINK that, but not SAY it.
She is probable concerned about you (even if she doesn't have to), and thinks she is right and you are wrong and just says it.
Don't pay attention to her, she is just an old lady from the supermarket. Ask her where she gets her hair done and move on to other waters.

I would just tell her, "thank you for your concern, but I have other things that are in need of my money, time and attention for now." And if she questions you, then you could mention that your daughter is your focus and thats all that matters right now. I hope this sounds ok. I will pray for your daughter and I wouldn't even listen to her anymore if she doesn't get the hint.
Bye!

Not that, that's for sure. Like my mum used to say "Got nothing nice to say - say nothing" How rude of anyone to point out what they see as a person's faults, based on nothing more than a casual acquaintance.
I don't know what you look like but I can tell you have a wonderful sense of humor. Keep smiling!

LOL. Sweetie if I were you I would give her my most prize-winning sh*t-eating "2 dollar" smile whenever I saw her. That'll really just get her goat (and is she gonna call you on being rude for being so happy to see her all the time?)

Insult her. Tell her she smells like an old person and that she should've been sent to the retirement home years ago.
