Refer to the "resolved questions" list for the original list and 6 or so answers. Remember, Kid McCoy and Tommy Ryan, despite their Irish surnames, were of English extraction.

And for all you Tunney-boosters who somehow think he deserves the nod over Jimmy McLarnin(a comical notion if you do your homework), please read my post regarding that.

Just for the record, Harry Greb and Bob Fitzsimmons were both half-Irish.

A fine list of great Irish BOXERS but your question concerned great Irish FIGHTERS so I would like to include
Audie Murphy and Michael Collins.

Well, I don't know about full-blood Irish fighters. But there was one American fighter who had Irish maternal grandparents. And he's the Greatest of All Time, Muhammad Ali.
