I can make all of these: á í ó ú ñ but I can't get an e with the accent mark; can somebody tell me how?

or alt+130 if you like sticking with alt codes.

Well ,the third answer could work,that's right but ,if you don't like to memorize all these abbreviations ,just do the following:
Start => Programs => Accessories => System tools => Character map .
Then choose any font that is supporting your language "Spanish in this case" for example: Folio BdCn Bt or any one else.& choose the letter by double clicking & then copy it.& past "é è ë ê"
I keep this window open while I'm typingin Spanish or French .

In order to get the special carachters, hold down the "ALT" key and then type in the number (right side of yr keyboard, not the numbers on the top side...!!) associated with the letter. Once the number is typed in release the "ALT" key and the letter will appear.

è = ALT138
é = ALT130

well first of all set your keyboard in spanish, and then type the tile next to the p and later e

Or you can insert-symbols-select normal text in drop down list. Select that character and insert it.

I'm assuming that you're working with Word.
