Yes, this does seem to fit into the 'even facts opposing my position prove I'm right' mentality.
Ok, after reading the responses I had to add something everyone seems to be forgetting; giving a bunch of college students guns will kill more people per year then this one guy did.
Could someone have stopped him? Sure, but what about the thousands of drinking hot headed college students being armed throughout the country? How many would they kill?
Also, it is a fact that where guns are easily accessed suicide goes up (because guns are so effective compared to other methods). Again, just in suicide alone you would no doubt see an increase in college deaths across the country way beyond 32 people.
About 20,000 people will kill themselves with guns this year my friends. Giving more people more guns could easily increase this number by the 1000's.
Is that what you want?

No. Actually, I'm inclined to agree that in this particular situation, even one person with a CCW would have made a hell of a difference.
Cho Seung-Hui shot his thirty victims about one hundred times total and had enough time to reload calmly multiple times. Add someone else in possession of a firearm, and the rampage stops at fifteen, or eight, or two.
I'm not saying more guns are always the solution; I'm not even saying that more guns on campus would end up with a net gain of lives, with the chance of getting fatally shot on a college campus at literally one in a million per annum. I am saying that in this situation, one gun in anyone else's possession would have changed the headline for the better.

I think that you are infected with the liberal plague.
What is it going to take to wake you up, your family being confronted by a violent manaic, and you being unable to defend them (not that you would, anyway)?
Seek therapy for your liberal mental disorder. Unfortunately, the dial on the electroshock machine is probably going to have be turned up to number 10 on the dial.

Well.... in a way it would. Think if one of those students had a gun they could have defended themselves and only one person would have died that day (or even just be injured)

guns don't kill people. People do. Over regulation WILL NOT stop such tragedy's from happening.
