Definitely. I cannot pet our cat without my neck getting a red rash and feeling like a sunburn. My eyes will burn and itch also. If I touch or pet the cat, I have to wash my hands before touching my face .
Cat dander, is a common problem for many. I do not suffer all the time, just when I handle the cat directly or its on my lap. Therefore, I dont handle the cat often. More of a dog person anyway.

Yes. My son is allergic to my mom's cat and he breaks out in to hives. Use Benedryl and vaccume your floors and furnature. also change your sheets. That's what helps my kiddo.

Might be razor burn. You probably didn't just develop an allergy and the allergens are in the dander not the hair.
