I am an atheist but I think religion is a fascinating subject. I spend time here because I want to understand why people believe the things they do. In addition, I have developed a deeper interest in one particular religion to which I may end up converting some day. I think of the time I spend in R&S as a learning experience....nothing more, nothing less...

Atheist like many other things..do not like for anyone to enjoy anything because they are unable to. They have no real meaning to life because once they die it is all over, so they get their fun in the short time they are on earth harassing those they know get to live for eternity, and they are so stubborn that instead of delving into what life is all about they would rather keep being the "little" pains that they are, and we have a powerful coping mechanism that helps us shut them out which frustrates them and makes then only want to talk louder to get attention because in a short while they will not be enjoying attention except from their god that will spend eternity torturing them. High price to pay for being stubborn. That is life though.

Wow those are some rude answers you got. That is a very legitimate question you asked. I too wondered the same thing. I think a better question would be why are the athiests on here pushing their "NON" beliefs on others, all the while condemning Christians as pushy . Don't get me wrong; I know some of them are. However, isn't it worse to be a hypocrite?

Only one way to answer this, and make it a double, bartender...
In addition to all the above-mentioned reasons, don't forget the number of questions addressed specifically to atheists on the site.

Essentially because this is one of the most entertaining of the sites. I tried the Music site and got bored, I laughed myself sick at the boyfriend/girlfriend troubles site, then I found this one which amuses me greatly, seeing the mental capacity of the Christians and Creationists. Easy meat!
Always good for a laugh and a giggle.
Bring it on !

The thing is that what Christians believe affects us all because you keep wanting to write your religious beliefs into everyone's laws. It can be beneficial to keep an eye on what you are doing.
Also please look up the meaning of spirituality. This is religion AND spirituality

atheists are people who (in America at least) grown up around christianity all over, and still chosen not to believe. Doesn't it interest you at all to know why?

Because I think the history of religion is interesting. And it's amusing to see all the people who really don't know anything at all about their chosen religion.

Because it's important to spread the truth as much as mythology. We are here to inform and educate, just like you yourself usually do when you run across an atheist. We know in our hearts we won't change any minds, but it's always worth a try.
Besides, I like to keep up with what y'all are thinking.
