No, not at all. If by a "soul" you mean some invisible spirit that lives in your body and then lives on after you die, absolutely not. All of your thoughts, emotions, and behavior originates in the brain. When the brain is dead, you are dead.

I feel that the word believe will allow anyone who uses it to feel that they are correct. Belief is kind of like 'taking the word of an authority 'as true', without researching the subject. I have a friend who believes that 'UFOs' created the human race long ago because of a book they read. I know children who believe that, whenever the light is off in their room, there is a 'boogey-man' under their bed. I am not saying that their isn't a soul, mind you, I just do not have enough information to decide. I understand that the church says you cannot experience your soul with your senses, and therefor you must believe, but I do not have enough information to know whether the soul, if there is one, cannot be experienced. I feel that we are all spiritual beings, but I do not come by this feeling through belief, but through the living of this life. I had a friend, after hearing my opinion on belief, ask me; Do you believe in God? I said no. 'Then you're an atheist?, I said no. I then asked them if, since I had answered their questions truthfully, would they answer mine. They said yes. My question to them was "Do you believe in me?" Their answer to me was, No, I can reach right out and touch you, so I know that you are here: No need to believe. That is my answer. If you only believe in God, you will never find God, but if you reach out and touch God, you will know that God is everything that there is.
Excellent question

I believe that man has a soul!
Many people have computers.
If the computer is not plugged into a power source then it could be called dead, for the moment at least.
When the computer is plugged into a power source then it could be called alive.

Man is like this also.
There is a power source that dwells in the heart, (Not in the brain) of man that we call the Soul. The brain is a tool that is used to gain knowledge of man and his environment. If the Soul is removed
then the human becomes separated from its power source, life then ceases to exist, as we know it.
Many will argue this point, but only upon our passing from this world will the "Truth" be known.........

Yes, I believe man has a soul. I believe that since we were created in God's image, we are a 3 part being like Him.
Spirit-how we communicate and have relationship with God; soul-the mind, will, and emotions, and body-what houses the other 2.

I personally believe that every human being has a soul... reasons being many! The first reason being that we would not have been here had there not been a soul within us! We have to remember that it is the soul atman within our body that has manifested this body for a period of about 70 to 80 years... nothing more! It is not within the capacity of the body to manifest a soul atman within. A human being as a body does not have the capacity to create something out of nothing... what to talk of creating even a pebble or a leaf!

On the contrary our soul atman within is on its cosmic journey of 8.4 million manifestations. Having reached the level of human beings we have already crossed 7.3 million manifestations as insect life, plant life and animal life. In the human form alone we have 1.1 million types of manifestations. And why does this happen?

No soul atman can purify itself on its own. To remove the dross within every soul atman manifests body after another until it reaches the last leg of cosmic life... the 8.4 millionth manifestation. It is then the human being gains enlightenment (kaivalya jnana) and salvation (moksha). Further on this liberated soul goes to the kingdom of God (aka Baikuntha in Hinduism)... a journey of no return!

Secondly if we try to understand the cosmic system as a whole... things would become clear. Imagine the situation just before the evolution of the Cosmos. The dissolution of the previous Cosmos takes place and it is only after the complete dissolution of the earlier Cosmos has occurred... no new cosmos can form. Why?

It is like this... after the complete dissolution of the previous Cosmos occurs... it reduces to the size of half a thumb (this has been amply clarified in Bhagavad Gita... the most sacred document of Hinduism). This cluster of all purified souls atmans in the Cosmos... the size of half a thumb is what we know as God Almighty. Unable to contain itself for long (imagine the unimaginable power this small cluster of energy would contain) it explodes with a big bang.

Does this mean God Almighty at the beginning of a new cosmos explodes with a big bang... yes, the truth is so! And all souls in the cluster spread out all over the Cosmos with unimaginable speeds. It is on their cosmic journey these souls’ atmans collect impurities. To come back to their original pure pristine form... all souls atmans are required to pass through a chain of 8.4 million manifestations.

The soul within every human being nay every living being is an exclusive part of the Cosmos and God Almighty. In absence of the souls' atmans, God Almighty and the Cosmos itself could not exist. More on soul atman - http://www.godrealized.com/hinduism_atman_soul.html

I do. I think only living beings has the feeling of survival, and that is why we have to be more than a body with electrical current inside of ourselves. We aspire for more.

We have dreams, we have memoirs, we have to be different of a simple mind, there has to be a operator and that's what I call a soul.

The soul is the one that gives us emotions either good or bad. Why? because there is no person on this living planet who does not get affected in some limit.

I find this one hard to answer insofar as it is what some philosophers might describe as an ipso facto proposition. That is, it's rather self-evident that man has a conciseness & essence of character. Within this reality man has a host of attributes...the ability to think, feel, reason, to love, to hate, to worship, to express emotion, etc.

The Bible affirms these attributes arrising from God the Creator's ascription to mankind. That is, these are what theologieans call 'communicable' attributes of personal traits that God allows mankind to embody. There are other attributes 'incommunicable' such as omnipotence, omniscience, etc. that God reserves for Himself.

It is the consciousness of our soul that allows us to exchange ideas such as what is being posted onto this thread.

Empiricists have for ages tried to isolate some biological component of what constitutes concsiousness & with that, 'humanity'. However, they have all failed insofar as our bodies are mere 'tents' or shells for which our soul resides in...until our death. And this is one of the miracles of life that God created, that man is incapable of unraveling. We ought to give thanks and honor to the Creator, Jesus Christ, for this wonderful gift of life!

Because the Bible says so. We are made up of body, spirit, and soul. When we become 'Born Again, God gives us a new SPIRIT, The Holy Spirit. We are a new Creature and our soul becomes one with God and we inherit eternal life.
