I don't know that I agree with this Socratic view. People do evil acts everyday with full knowledge of the consequences of their actions.
What is more important to consider is why do people commit evil acts? Or what motivate evil actions? The list is many but it really only boils down to one source - emotional pain.
My mother told me I am not worth loving. My father said I would not amount to anything. I hate men because they always break my heart. Women are whores because all they want is a man's money. The world hates me so I will kill as many people as I can. Americana's military killed my family and the list goes on and on.
If you sit with any individual that have committed evil acts you will find some traumatic event in their past that some how lessened his or her self esteem. Oh these people are well aware of there actions but they have justification up the ying yang. This is why forgiveness if important. A rational person would understand it is not a right action to do to another what was done to you but you have to understand these people do not have basic love for self.

If they were aware of the consequences of evil deeds it means that someone mistreated them at some point in their life and they are (not ignorant)..if they are ignorant..they don't know how it is to be in the situation..therefore unknowledged. Therefore I agree.

i came to know of someone...
she can in one occasion advise someone that to talk behind ppl's back is bad....
but she can yak for hours on the phone bad-mouthing some other ppl....
?????
maybe socrates is right in a certain way...
she knows that talking bad about someone is not right, that explains her ability to advise others.
but she doesn't know (realise) and is ignorant of the fact that she is doing that very same bad thing!!!
do i make sense?
