My bible teacher said it is. In the bible it says nothing about drugs. The only thing it says is you can't get drunk, however getting stoned is not even close to being drunk. If I am drunk, I can bearly walk and fall down sometimes, getting high, I just laugh at everything and have a good time, so totally different experience. After all why would god put that herb on this planet if he didn't want us to smoke. Its againts the law, but not bible law.

Well, Benjamin Franklin said beer was proof that God loves us and wants us to be happy. The same argument could be made for weed - Washington and Jefferson both grew it.

If you are a grownup and drink to the point of barely being able to walk, you have a problem and need to stop drinking.

In so far that smoking up violates man's law (which Christians are asked to keep unless it is immoral) yes, it is a sin. Which is one of the reasons I'm fighting for legalization (along with the oh ten BILLION dollars a year we waste on fighting marijuana alone, not to mention medical benefits and etc etc). The Bible speaks out against drunkeness (alcoholism) and I think a similar stricture could be applied to the overuse of reefer.

As the man said. "Man made beer. God made pot. Who do YOU trust?"

Rasta, a form of Christianity that believes different about the herb. People too often take things from the bible and relate it to their current times. The problem is that no one cares about the time in which it was stated. Things taken as they were at the time of the original writings are quite different. What is understood by most Christians these days is derived from a compilation of translated scriptures which were selected from men who thought this is the way things should be seen in society. You have to follow your heart and your soul and do as you wish to do for the very reason that for gave you free will.

One example, taken literally by many, "to use God's name in vein" is seen today as some including the word "God" in a sentence with any word that's seen impolite to use in today's society. At the time of this rules creation society seen this as "swearing" in the name of the lord in dishonesty. Quite two different things. If Jesus had followed the law of dishonest men who tried to run him, he would not have died on the cross. Very much comparable to the early ages of Christianity, Christians were seen as what many people would consider today to be a "cult." God gave you the chance to live and do what you want with life, because he loved you, and for that same reason he died for your sins, and when you leave your flesh you know in your heart the kind of life you've lived. God gave you a brain for a reason, to use it and come to your own conclusions.

God created it and saw that it was good.
The bible says that what ever we consume will pass away as dung and that the only place good or evil lays is on the inside of people, it is what comes from the inside of a person out towards the rest of the world that is either good or evil.
Follow after no man.
Follow after God.
You bible teacher is wrong.
Anything in moderation is OK, excess is bad.
Jesus turned water into wine didn't he? He drank wine also. Would your bible teacher call Jesus a winebibber also?

Yes, smoking weed is sin. Smoking weed was associated with the greek word "pharmakia", which is where we get the word pharmacy. But it the Old Testament, smoking pot and using drug was associated with "sorcery and witchcraft". People who practiced sorcery or witchcraft would smoke dope and drugs inorder to get hight to cast spells. This allowed them to fellowship with demonic spirits and gain supernatural insight. Therefore, if you practiced sorcery under the Law of Moses you were put to death. Any thing which causes you to be not sober whether it's pot or alcohol, allows you to be a vessel for demonic spirits to enter. So if you smoke pot don't be surprised if demons show up in your life. Finally, Is 48:12-15 talks about what will happen to people who are associated with smoking dope.

You're right in that it is not against Bible teachings. It is however, illegal. The Bible does require us to obey civil authorities as long as they do not conflict with Biblical commands. (i.e. commands to spread the gospel). This is true even in cases where the government is being clearly illogical, such as the continued classification of marijuana as a class 1 controlled substance.

Smoking weed is a sin only to those who want it to be.

There was a time when smoking tobacco was thought to be the work of the devil too. Kinda shows you how long the tobacco lobbyists have been playing the political game, huh?

It's not. Your Bible teacher is full of BS.

Anything in moderation is fine, like not getting drunk.
